What a crappy last day of January. Crappy day, crappy photo, with crappy iPhone.

Day 30 of 366

Happy Monday!

The smartest choice I ever made was to give myself Mondays off from school!  I am so glad I decided to go to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, instead of Mondays and Wednesdays!  It's like having an extended weekend, every weekend! :)

I had a small homework assignment over the weekend that involved some coloring.  I, of course, waited until Monday to complete the assignment.  I busted out some crayons and scribbled away.  I forgot how therapeutic coloring could be!  I should have been an art major, haha.  Anyways, I hope everyone is having a happy Monday!

We could learn a lot from crayons; some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, while others bright, some have weird names, but they all have learned to live together in the same box.  ~Robert Fulghum

Day 29 of 366

I have a love-hate relationship with this thing, mostly hate.  Thank you kettle bell, for kicking my butt.

Day 28 of 366

They say that dogs are man's best friend.  I can vouch for that.  I spent hours trying to make this photo look flawless and real.  Obviously, it doesn't.  But I realized that that wasn't why it was important for me to do this photo.  With this photo, I want to display the love I have for my dog, and the love he has for me.  I honestly feel like he knows me better than I know myself sometimes.  He knows when I'm sad, he knows when I need attention, and he knows when I just need to be left alone.  In an earlier photo I quoted, "A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself."  I could not agree more with this statement.  I know he will never stop loving me, no matter what.  He is a part of me and has changed my life in so many ways.  I will be forever thankful to him.

Day 24 of 366

Today was my very last, first day of school (unless grad school is in the cards for me).  I am happy to say that, after 6 years of college, I will finally graduate in May, with a BA in Mass Communications. I can't explain what a relief it is to finally be able to say that.  I know I'm not the most unique college student ever, but I've had quite a long road.  I'm not sure if any of my younger friends/family look at my blog, but I'd like to take a moment to not be a friend, but to be a mentor:

Be serious about high school.  Have fun, but take it seriously and PREPARE FOR YOUR FUTURE.  If I could give you one piece of advice, it would be to skip out on junior college, if at all possible.  College is expensive (duh), but if you have the opportunity to go straight into a four year institution, take it.

I had that opportunity, and sadly, I passed it up.  Being a minority from a lower socioeconomic status, and having excellent grades, I could have gone to almost any college I wanted to straight of of high school. But, I was too scared to do so.  I was too scared to leave my friends, family, and then boyfriend.  So, I didn't even apply to any other schools, and I enrolled in American River College.  And so, I stayed in Sacramento, with my family and my best friends.  Although I really enjoyed that part of my life, I passed up that opportunity, and I'll never get that chance again.

Although I am happy and thankful for the life I have, I will always wonder where I would be, or what my life would be like, had I gone away for college.  Don't underestimate yourself and don't sell yourself short.

Again, not everyone is fortunate enough to have the opportunity to go straight into a four year school, but if the opportunity ever presents itself, don't pass it up.  Take it from someone who did.

Day 23 of 366

I had a really great "last day before school" today.  I slept in and then spent the day shopping and running errands with my love.  I love days like this.  I hope this semester flies by!

Day 22 of 366

This is a pretty accurate representation of today's lovely weather.  Geesh.  Ridiculous wind.  But actually, this is the perfect way to spend a Sunday.  Relaxed all day with my puppy and some quality HGTV.  Had a pretty good day, considering.

Happy Sunday!

Day 21 of 366

Brandi and I went to the Mix Downtown and had a fabulous night.  A little too much fun, actually!  This was the only photo I was able to get, and it was taken with my iPhone, so the quality isn't so great.  Oh well.  We had a blast and can't wait to do it again!

Day 20 of 366

Had a great day today!  Got to catch up with some great friends in Martinez and visited with my future in-laws in Antioch.  Very excited for the months to come.

Tonight's photo was kind of a last minute shot.. I forgot my camera at home this morning.  I am so happy I did, because I LOVE how this turned out.  Hello rain!  Nice of you to finally show up!!

Hello, rain!  I've missed you!

Day 19 of 366

I've had a long journey on my road to accepting baseball as a part of my life.  I never could have imagined loving a sport as "boring" as baseball, let alone loving a sport!  But, after spending almost five years of my young life with a man who lives and breathes the sport, I got sucked in.

Having a baseball addict as a fiance, it is inevitable but to become a baseball fan yourself.  However, during the off season I always seem to forget how much I've grown to love baseball and get really annoyed when Sean stays up late at night reading about trade rumors, arbitrations, etc.

As I was cleaning today, I stumbled upon the Giants' "Worth the Wait" World Series book.  I spent a good part of my day reading through it and reminiscing about the 2010 World Series.  Needless to say, I got SUPER excited for the upcoming season.  I'm sure many of you can remember the excitement of that season.  I thought this would make for an appropriate photo to recap that feeling.  I love baseball.  I love the joy it brings to our house every Spring.  I love the excitement, and the disappointment, and all of the different feelings that go along with the sport.  I love my San Francisco Giants!  And I can't wait for opening day!

Day 15 of 366

This is my youngest brother, Stephen.  He has had this photo in mind ever since my best friend did her first "levitation" photo.  He had been begging me to ask her to do this exact photo of him.  So I thought I'd do it myself :) So here it is.  My brother, the meditation...ist.

Day 10 of 366

Had a very uneventful day today.  I took Kuma on a really long walk.  It was such a beautiful afternoon!  It almost felt like Spring.  Since I am not great with Photoshop, I didn't even attempt to remove the sun flare from this photo, but I'm actually pretty happy with how it turned out.

Day 7 of 366

Today was so windy!  I didn't leave the house all day, except to get this shot.  Somehow, I was able to get this branch in focus.  I decided to make it a tornado inspired photo, because of the tornado like weather!

(YAY!  I made it a whole week!!)

Day 4 of 366

We visited our first wedding venues today!  It made the whole thing feel so real!  I am so excited!!  So far, I have my heart set on the Tsakopoulous Library Galleria, located in downtown Sacramento.  Today's photo was taken at the Croation American Cultural Center.  As you can see, it was BEAUTIFUL, but I'm still not convinced...

Day 1 of 366

Happy New Year!

Today is the start of my 365 Blog! (Well, actually, 366 because it's a Leap Year!)  For my New Years Resolution, I wanted to pick something that was both challenging and interesting.  I chose to do a "365 Project" in hopes to test my creative abilities and to improve my photography.  After watching my best friend successfully finish her 365 Project, I became motivated to complete my own.

I will be taking a photo every day and posting it onto this blog.  I hope you all enjoy my photos and I hope I will actually be able to stick with something for an entire year!  Here goes nothing!

Check out my friend's completed 365 Project.  Enjoy :)

Lamp post outside of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament.  Actually went to church this morning! :)
